Evidence Based Integrated Medicine
Integrated Mental Health
What is integrative mental health? I use a combination of western medical practices (diagnostic and assessment tools, prescription medications) along with psychotherapy, herbal medicine, exercise, nutrition, nutritional supplements, cognitive training, and behavioral tailoring to help improve mental health and relieve mental health symptoms that interfere with your life. My approach is tailored to each person, some people may be more comfortable with western medicine, while others would prefer to avoid medications. We will work together to create a plan, unique to you, using evidence-based practice.
Psychopharmacology is as much an art as it is a science. I specialize in prescribing for conditions such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, and other mood disorders. If medications are right for you, I will prescribe a medication(s) and follow up with you to monitor safety and effectiveness. Because each person is different, medication plans must be tailored to the individual. We will determine the best plan for you using shared decision making to make a safe and effective plan. I will ensure you know all of your options and have the information you need to make informed choices about your care.
Assessment and Diagnosis
Excellent treatment starts with a deep understanding of the issues you would like to address. We will work together to identify your symptoms, and arrive at a clear diagnosis, so we can determine the most effective treatment plan. My intake process starts with a psychiatric interview. I can help identify areas where support is needed and determine if other assessments would be helpful to clarify a diagnosis or condition. Once your needs are understood, we will determine what treatment options feel right for you and create a treatment plan using shared decision making.
